The NYC Housing Recovery Operations (HRO) opened its Damage Report Portal for New Yorkers who have experienced property damage from a disaster event or emergency, such heavy rainfall, flooding, or strong winds.
If you have been impacted, please complete the Damage Information Form. The form will ask some questions about the damaged property and its condition.
Your report will assist the City in providing accurate data on the impact of this event to State and Federal agencies. This information also allows the City to identify and, where available, provide eligible New Yorkers with disaster recovery assistance. Based on the information you submit, the City may also refer you to additional benefits or programs for which you may be eligible.
Before You Begin
To access the Damage Information Form you are required to log in through NYC.ID, a secure authentication solution for NYC-hosted applications. You can use your Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, LinkedIn, or NYC account to sign in.
If you don’t have an email or social account, or if you don’t want to use them to access the form, you can report damage by phone. Please call HRO at (212) 615-8329.
You may need the following information to complete this form:
- Damaged property’s address
- Damaged property’s insurance details
- Landlord and/or tenant information
- Measurement of water and/or sewage in the property
- Photos of the damage
To get started, go to the portal here [link to Home · Report Damage Portal] and select the option that best describes you:
- Homeowner: Residential property that you own was damaged.
- Tenant: Residential property that you rent was damaged.
- Business Owner/Non-Profit: Property used by your business or non-profit was damaged.
IMPORTANT: Call 911 if you are in immediate danger or if there is a life-threatening situation. Call 311 to report a non-emergency safety issue.
