Dear NHSNYC Friends and Supporters,
June is an incredibly significant month for us at NHSNYC and our mission-driven partners.
National Homeownership Month, observed throughout June, celebrates the importance and benefits of homeownership. For NHSNYC, this month is particularly meaningful as it reaffirms our commitment to creating and preserving affordable, sustainable homeownership opportunities in our community. We are dedicated to removing barriers for potential homeowners by preparing prospective buyers for the home-buying process through financial and homebuyer education, helping them qualify for affordable mortgages or loans, and providing down payment and closing cost assistance to turn their dreams of homeownership into reality.
However, to be truly effective in executing our mission and fulfilling our goals, we cannot accomplish this critical work alone.
As a chartered member of NeighborWorks America, NHSNYC is part of a network of nearly 250 organizations nationwide that strive to create opportunities for families and individuals to live in affordable homes, improve their lives, and ultimately strengthen their communities. We were honored to join over 150 other network organizations in hosting events and campaigns during the Annual NeighborWorks America Week from June 1 to June 8. During this important week, we brought together NHSNYC’s newly reformed Advisory Board, our Board of Directors, and Staff for a social gathering to network, meet one another, and learn more about their commitment to serving our community through homeownership and lending programs, services, and initiatives.
Beyond Homeownership Month, NHSNYC remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering opportunities for future homeowners to attain, maintain, and sustain their homes and futures. Our homebuyer education, financial capability programming, and affordable lending programs are vital resources for low- and moderate-income New Yorkers at every stage of their homeownership journey.
On behalf of our dedicated staff and committed Board of Directors and Advisory Board, we extend our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support of NHSNYC and our work within the community.
Simply put, we couldn’t do this without partners and supporters like you.
With sincere thanks,
Patricia Primo
