Neighborhood Housing Services of NYC to Host Annual Housing Resource Fair in the Bronx on July 25

BRONX, NY — Neighborhood Housing Services of New York City (NHSNYC), a HUD-certified, citywide housing counseling agency, will host its largest event of the year, the All-Free Annual Housing Resource Fair, on Saturday, July 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the TWU Homeownership Center, 2475 Westchester Avenue, Bronx, NY 10461.

Designed for home buyers, homeowners, tenants, and small landlords, the event is expected to attract more than 200 attendees seeking valuable information, resources, and services to help them achieve and maintain housing stability and homeownership.

The fair will feature a series of educational workshops covering topics including:

  • Homebuyer education
  • HomeFirst and other financial assistance programs, including the $100,000 down payment and closing cost grant
  • Loans for home repairs, improvements, and accessibility modifications
  • Property management and landlord resources
  • Additional housing and financial empowerment topics

Attendees will also have access to a large exhibit hall where they can connect directly with mortgage lenders, real estate attorneys, property insurance representatives, housing counselors, and government agencies, including the New York City Department of Buildings.

The FDNY Education Unit will be on site to provide fire safety information, register residents for free smoke alarms and installation, and offer CPR demonstrations.

In addition, New York City Emergency Management will share resources on emergency preparedness, including creating an emergency plan, identifying evacuation zones, hurricane readiness, and other critical safety information.

Local elected officials are expected to attend throughout the day to show their support for the organization and the communities it serves.

The event will also feature raffles and giveaways, including a grand prize flatscreen television, as well as complimentary light refreshments for attendees.

“This event brings together trusted partners and resources that help New Yorkers navigate every stage of the housing journey,” said CEO Tonya Ores. “Whether someone is looking to buy a home, preserve their home, improve their property, or access important community services, the Housing Resource Fair offers information and support all in one place.”
