NHSNYC ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP TRANSITION
[NEW YORK, NY] – Neighborhood Housing Services of New York City (NHSNYC), a leading non-profit focused on affordable housing in New York City, announces the departure of its Chief Executive Officer, Derrick Griggs. Mr. Griggs is leaving to pursue other professional opportunities. Mr. Grigg’s resignation is effective April 30, 2024, and he will remain a consultant to the organization’s board of directors and leadership through July 2024. Appointed CEO in September 2020, Mr. Griggs has been instrumental in guiding NHSNYC through a period of recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic. The organization expresses its deep appreciation for his dedication and leadership during that challenging time.
During Mr. Griggs’ tenure, NHSNYC achieved significant milestones, advancing its mission of creating and preserving affordable housing opportunities and expanding access to capital for low-to-moderate-income New Yorkers. He played a pivotal role in growing the organization’s lending department’s capacity and activity, elevating the organization’s brand, strengthening partnerships, and augmenting the accessibility and quality of services provided to the community.
“I am incredibly proud of the work we have accomplished together during my time at NHSNYC and grateful for the opportunity to have served such a storied organization,” said Mr. Griggs. “I am confident that NHSNYC will continue to thrive under new leadership, and I look forward to witnessing its continued success and demonstrated impact on the surrounding community.”
The Board of Directors of NHSNYC has formed a Transition and Search Committee to steer a comprehensive search process to identify Mr. Griggs’ successor. During the transition, Mr. Griggs will work closely with the Board and leadership team to ensure a smooth transfer of responsibilities and to maintain the continuity of NHSNYC’s day-to-day operations and mission.
