Neighborhood Housing Services of New York City (NHSNYC) hosted its Annual Housing Resource Fair on July 25 at the TWU Homeownership Center in the Bronx, welcoming more than 200 homebuyers, homeowners, tenants, small landlords, and property managers. Attendees participated in educational workshops by our HUD-certified housing counselors covering homeownership, downpayment assistance, home-repair financing, and property management. In a huge exhibit hall, participants connected with mortgage lenders, attorneys, insurance representatives, government agencies, and NHSNYC staff.

The event also featured resources from city agencies, including the FDNY Education Unit, Department of Buildings, and New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM), which brought materials in English and Spanish. Fabulous raffle prizes included two flatscreen TVs as well as fire blankets, emergency radios, and more. Councilmember Shirley Aldebol attended to show support for NHSNYC’s mission and the importance of expanding access to housing education to support first-time home buyers and keep struggling homeowners  in their homes.

As NHSNYC’s largest annual event, the fair reinforced the organization’s commitment to helping residents achieve, preserve, and sustain housing stability and successful homeownership.
