NHSNYC hosted its Annual Bridging the Gap Gala on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Tribeca 360°, bringing together more than 300 guests for a sold-out evening celebrating community, partnership, and lasting impact.

The event—emceed for the third consecutive year by Mike Woods, Weather Anchor for FOX 5 NY’s Good Day New York—highlighted NHSNYC’s continued commitment to empowering low- and moderate-income New Yorkers through homeownership, financial education, and community development.

The evening began with a warm welcome from David Bagatelle, President of NHSNYC’s Board of Directors, followed by a powerful keynote address from Tonya Ores, Chief Executive Officer of NHSNYC, who shared the organization’s renewed vision for wraparound, citywide housing services.

NHSNYC was proud to honor two exceptional partners for their leadership and collaboration:

• Lending Partner of the Year: Dime Community Bank, accepted by Steven Miley and Patricia Strong, presented by David Bagatelle
• Government Partner of the Year: Commissioner James Hendon, New York City Department of Veterans’ Services, presented by Tonya Ores

The heart of the evening came from Fanny and Martin Ortiz, who shared their inspiring story of perseverance and partnership with NHSNYC, introduced by Tywan Anthony, Director of Property Management and Training.

The night also featured remarks and reflections by Donald Tom, Treasurer of the Board, and R. Gary Campbell, Director of Finance and Administration, who together shared an update on NHSNYC’s strong financial position and the impact of donor support.

Closing remarks from Tonya Ores, David Bagatelle, and Mike Woods capped off an inspiring evening that surpassed NHSNYC’s fundraising goal.

The evening concluded on a high, energetic note with dessert, dancing, and entertainment.

All net proceeds from the gala will directly support NHSNYC’s programs and services that help New Yorkers achieve and sustain homeownership, financial stability, and community resilience.
