NHS creates new homeownership opportunities through “gut rehabilitation” and new construction of 1-4 family residential and mixed use buildings. Since 1993, NHS has partnered with the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) to rehabilitate over 400 buildings primarily in Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. During this time NHS participated in the HomeWorks, Neighborhood Homes, StoreWorks, New Foundations and other New York City housing programs. (To learn more about HPD programs click here.)
